Mineral oil? is not conductive, so no.

Nope, have not ...
Nope, have not noted any long term side effects, and only seen about 2-3 milimeters of evaporation. This is probably most because of the oil leaking out of the usb hub, which I have still not found a suitable solution for. Even the fans are? still running like day 1.

So...this video is ...
So...this video is 3yrs old now. Have you had any long term problems with this particular fish tank.(Has the mineral oil effected any parts of the aquarium or filtration system? Any leaks? Looking to? do a similar build and I really like the look of this build. Thanks for sharing the video.

thats cool. If I were you I'd try and get the wire extended? so that you can move the tank so that its not consuming your desk space

so how long was it before that fan went?. pc fans aren't designed? to move fluids. only air. yes i know air is technically a fluid... you get my point.

If i actually had a computer to spare? i would totally do this! I play games that made my last gaming pc catch on fire (yes it had heat sink [or whatever]). And by the time i get my computer booted it sounds like a flying plane, so oil would help a ton. Oh and nice job man.

does the increased resistance on the power-supply? fan, and/or other fan's electric motors/parts cause any problems as far as you are aware?

Who cares if this isent overclocked or whatever.. besides if you want to over clock your PC, Clearly you cant afford a decent PC anyways.. My hats off to you of doing this in a Fishtank with all the other Fish stuff in? there really dose make this project alot more different, Its a shame manny others just seam to follow sheep and do the same old stuff time and time again, So again Great Video, Great project!! The power supply is 100% safe in the oil, as mineral oil? is not conductive.
